Early years of WSDC/WDSL Radio

In accordance to the Federal Communications Commission in Washington D.C., in1962, a radio station covering the area of Mocksville, NC was formed. It was a 250-watt radio station with 10 investors to start the station. The station was called WSDC. The call letters stood for Winston-Salem,Salisbury,and Davie Counties. He station was situated at 1011 Hardison Street in Mocksville in less n two years, the station went defunct and closed down.

In 1964, Mr. Roland Potter authorized a 5, 000 watt station called WDSL 1520 AM “The Voice Of Davie County which is still used today. It is still in existence today and coming up on its 48th year.
